Marguerite Bays' paternal home

The house is open to all

You can enter the house without logging in (every day from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm) to go to the room where Marguerite Bays worked and slept.

The room

Marguerite loved this room very much because, when she turned towards the window, she could see the church of Siviriez and worship herself in spirit, as if she was at the foot of the tabernacle. The sun enters it in the afternoon, flooding it with a warm light that leads to contemplation. It is also in this room that Marguerite meditated on the Word with her Bible and contemplated Our Lord's Passion by praying the Way of the Cross.

A display stand with some books, cards and medals is at your disposal. DVDs on the life of the Blessed are also on sale. For this, or any other information, you can contact the person in charge of reception. A doorbell is located in the room to the left of the glass door.

Picnic and play area

Outdoor picnic area and playground
On your way to the house, you will see a gravelly square and another paved square with tables, benches and parasols. It is the "pilgrims' garden". You can picnic there or simply stop there.
There is also a grass area and a small playground for children.

Interior room with WC at disposal
Before entering, on the road side, there is a first door that opens onto the "pilgrim's shelter". It is a small room with about 30 seats, in which there is a screen to watch the video on Marguerite's life (duration about 35 minutes).
Sinks and toilets as well as a thermos of hot water, a coffee machine and syrup are at your disposal. You can also use aniseed breads and croquets, typical Fribourg biscuits, which are found in boxes on the tables.
